Chapter 3: What should I do that for?
In this chapter we are going to learn :
(Di materi ini kita akan mempelajari : )
- To tell or ask others to do or not to do something
- to state the purpose or intention to do it
Lets start! (mari mulai!)
What to Do and What Not to Do
What to do in Bahasa mean yang harus dilakukan.
(What to do dalam bahasa Indonesia berarti yang harus dilakukan).
While, what not to do in Bahasa mean yang tidak boleh dilakukan.
(Sementara itu, what not to do dalam Bahasa Indonesia berarti yang tidak boleh dilakukan)
When we tell what to do or what not to do must be followed by reason.
(Ketika memberi tahu orang lain tentang yang harus dan tidak boleh dilakukan, harus diikuti dengan alasan)
Example what to do :
- You have to take some rest in order to get well soon.
- Stay in bed to let medicine work.
- You should eat well in order to get healthy.
Example what not to do :
- You should not play too much so that you can learn well.
- In order to stay healthy, we should not eat junk foods.
- In order to stay away from Covid-19, we should not go outside without mask.
Grammar Focus
In this chapter we can learn some structure need to understand.
(Pada bab ini kita mempelajari beberapa struktur yang harus dimengerti)
If you are focus, you will aware that after in order to will be followed by Verb 1.
(Jika kalian fokus, kalian akan menyadari bahwa setelah “in order to” akan diikuti oleh Verb 1)
Also for should, should not, have to, will be followed by Verb 1.
(Begitu pula untuk “should, should not, have to” akan diikuti oleh Verb 1).
After so that will be followed by subject.
(Setelah “so that” akan diikuti oleh subject)
