Chapter 4: Come to my birthday, please!

In this chapter we are going to learn :

(Di materi ini kita akan mempelajari : )

• To invite someone to do something
• To give instruction
• To ask for permission

Lets start! (mari mulai!)

To invite someone to do something

To invite someone to do something we can use “let’s”

(Untuk mengajak seseorang untuk melakukan sesuatu kita dapat gunakan “let’s”)

Example:

(Contoh: )

• Let’s study together
• Let’s play
• Let’s swim

Dialogue example:

(Contoh dialog: )

Dialogue 1

Udin: James, let’s go out.

James: Sure, Udin.

Dialogue 2

Didi: Do you come to Hana birthday party?

Sinta: Sure I come, let’s go together Didi!

To give instruction

To give instruction to other we can use “please”.

(Untuk memberikan instruksi kita dapat gunakan kata “please”)

Don’t forget to add exclamation (!) in the end to show instruction.

(Jangan lupa tambahkan tanda seru (!) di akhir untuk menunjukan sebuah instruksi).

• Please wait!
• Please wake up!
• Please sit down!

Dialogue example:

Teacher in the class want student to sit down on their chair.

Teacher: Everybody please sit down!

Student: Yes sir!

Dialogue 2

Kiki want hand over the book to his friend.

Kiki: Nay, please take this book!

Nay: Ok, Kiki.

To ask permission

To ask someone permission we can use these sentences:

(Untuk meminta izin dari seseorang, kita dapat gunakan kalimat dibawah ini: )

• May I …?
• Can I ….?

Example:

• May I sit here?
• Can I read this book here?
• Can I wrap this prize later?

Beni: Can I use your pen?

Dayu: Sure. Take the black one.

Dialogue 2

Udin: Is this seat taken? Can I sit here?

Edo: No. One leg is loose. Please take the one over there.
